FAQS
CBD (cannabidiol) oil is extracted from the flowering and leafy parts of the cannabis plant. It is an essential oil that is quickly gaining momentum in the health and wellness world for a wide range of therapeutic use – from treating symptoms of chronic pain, to efforts in relief from anxiety.
CBD oil has been wrongly confused with hemp oil. Hemp oil (extracted from hemp seeds, NOT the cannabis plant) does not contain CBD or any other form of cannabinoids, and is generally used as a dietary supplement or in cooking. CBD oil (extracted from the cannabis plant’s flower clusters) contains cannabinoids, terpenes, and other active compounds that are gaining traction in the world of wellness practices.
Daily stressors, such as physical ailments, aches, diet or lifestyle choices weaken our immune and nervous systems. When it senses a deficit, our brain naturally begins a “search” for some missing link to target this weakness. Once located, that link will bring our bodies back to homeostasis, or a state of equilibrium. Think of the CBD as that missing link.
The endocannabinoid receptor system in the human body is a biological system that regulates many physiological and cognitive processes, including appetite, pain management and immune system functionality. Endocannabinoids are neurotransmitters that bind to cannabinoid receptors, which are activated positively by CBD oil – one of 113 known active cannabinoids in the cannabis plant. The functionality and power of CBD lies in its ability to influence these receptors into achieving higher levels of balance, with no psychoactive side effects.
CBD is a product attained by extraction methods of essential oils from the flowering part of the cannabis plant.
Hemp oil does not contain cannabinoids such as CBD. It is a seed oil produced simply by pressing the seeds of the plant, similar to corn or sesame oil.
Studies have shown the human body to be extremely tolerant to CBD Oil (which is, importantly, non-toxic and non-addictive). No known cases of illness caused by the consumption of CBD oil exist.
The answer is a simple, yet resounding, no. You cannot get high from CBD Oil.
Yes! All 50 states have found CBD Oil to be legal. No prescription is needed. No medical card is required. As long as it contains less than 0.3% THC, CBD oil is legal to purchase and consume.
Full Spectrum is a term used to describe CBD oil products with a combination of cannabinoids, beneficial compounds found in PCR (naturally occurring) hemp, and terpenes (a large, diverse class of organic compounds, produced by a wide range of plants and some insects; quite simply, they are what gives an orange or a pine tree their unique smell).
Hemp is often considered to be the same as marijuana. Though they have many similar uses, they are two different types of cannabis in both chemical property and cultivation process (among many other separate traits).
- Hemp is most commonly used for fabrics, food, rope or to cultivate it’s oil for pain relief.
- Marijuana contains high levels (sometimes up to 20%) of the psychoactive property we know as THC.
- Hemp contains less than 0.3% THC.
Terpenes are a class of volatile hydrocarbon compounds produced in the flower clusters of the cannabis plant. There are around 200 terpenes in cannabis. Terpenes are what gives cannabis its distinct aromas and flavor. Terpenes have beneficial effects and work synergistically with cannabinoids like CBD and THC – this relationship is called the entourage effect. Terpenes are recognized as safe for human consumption by the Food and Drug Association and are used in a wide variety of food and cosmetic products.
The general rule is to try to keep the oil under your tongue for 30 – 60 seconds. The longer you keep it there, usually the better it will absorb.
When it comes to CBD Oil, less is more and we suggest you start off small. The ideal serving size of CBD for each person depends on a wide range of variables, including the reason it is being used, the method of administration, sex, age, weight, diet, exercise and more. Please refer to the packaging for suggested serving size.
Servings of 5 to 50 milligrams per day are commonly reported for health maintenance, mood enhancement and minor pain reduction. Higher servings, although not harmful, are not recommended unless being used to treat a particular disorder, in which case it is recommended that you consult with a qualified medical professional.
