CBD or cannabidiol oil is extracted from the flowering and leafy parts of the cannabis plant. It is an essential oil that is quickly gaining momentum in the health and wellness world for a wide range of therapeutic use – from treating symptoms of chronic pain, to efforts in relief from anxiety.

We all have what’s known as an endocannabinoid system in our bodies – with two receptors (CB1 and CB2). These receptors are the main source overseeing the regulation of our appetite, pain management and immune system functionality.

Daily stressors, such as physical ailments, aches, diet or lifestyle choices weaken our immune and nervous systems. When it senses a deficit, our brain naturally begins a “search” for some missing link to target this weakness. Once located, that link will bring our bodies back to homeostasis, or a state of equilibrium. Think of the CBD as that missing link.

The endocannabinoid receptor system in the human body is a biological system that regulates many physiological and cognitive processes, including appetite, pain management and immune system functionality. Endocannabinoids are neurotransmitters that bind to cannabinoid receptors, which are activated positively by CBD oil – one of 113 known active cannabinoids in the cannabis plant. The functionality and power of CBD lies in its ability to influence these receptors into achieving higher levels of balance, with no psychoactive side effects.

Our CBD comes from the hemp plant, known scientifically as cannabis sativa. While hemp shares a similar family name and is often misaligned with marijuana, CBD and hemp do not produce any psychoactive effects.

Using the most gentle, muted extraction method with supercritical carbon dioxide (CO2), the inherent medicinal properties of the plant remain intact. This is the highest grade method of production available – and the only one used by HereNow CBD. While being environmentally friendly, the process utilizes a fluid state of CO2 to minimize the plant materials’ thermal degradation.

Maintaining control over the process, from production through each step of manufacturing the product (under Current Good Manufacturing practices – or cGMP) allows HereNow CBD to oversee quality control at every level. These measures ensure zero contamination occurence up to, and including product completion and packaging.

What we know as classic, industrial hemp aims at fiber or seed production. HereNow CBD genetics target phytocannabinoid content in the breeding process. A history of carefully breeding unique strains of hemp has allowed the developmental standard for industry-leading, CBD rich product concentration. Consistency is key, only attainable through the clone-only process at HereNow CBD. With extraneous materials in extracts minimized – in no small part hinging on the strength of our genetics – offering highly concentrated, effective products is, in turn, maximized.
